Get Google voice recorder App on any Android devices [Working]

In 2019, Google launched the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones. Both devices come with some specific features that are exclusive. While the Pixel 4 series devices feature an improved Google Camera app, a smooth 90Hz display, a new Google Pixel launcher and a new Google Recorder app also known as Google Pixel 4 Recorder app has been introduced by the OEM.

This simple to use voice recorder not only transcribes speech in real time, but it also has a simple UI that allows you to save and share the transcripts. Despite the fact that Google has made its voice recording app exclusively for Pixel devices, there is an easy way to use it on any Android device running on Android 9.0 or Android 10. Also, previous Pixel device users (like Pixel 2, Pixel 3/3a) can also get the app by default if they’ve already updated to the December 2019 Android Security Patch Level. Even if you’re using the first generation of Pixel and Pixel XL running on Android 9 or Android 10, you can try it out by installing the modified APK file below.

Google Pixel Recorder Features

The Google Pixel Recorder stands out with its distinctive features, including real-time transcriptions and an audio search function, setting it apart from other voice recorder apps. The best part is that you can type anything you want as notes.

Although the app currently supports US English language-based transcriptions. Sometimes you may face issues with transcriptions too, but you should give it a try. We hope that Google will add more languages soon. It's also important to note that the recorded audio quality isn’t good enough, however Google is working on it.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the device requirements if you want to download the Google Recorder app.

Requirements

The app is not working with its full functions on devices. But primary functions such as Audio Transcriptions and Audio search are working.

Google Recorder app may not work properly on some of the Android devices, as the phones are running modified software to the Text View component in the Android Framework. Thanks to the XDA Developers MISHAL RAHMAN for modifying this app to work on most Android devices running Android 9 Pie or Android 10.

Fully Working on:

  • All Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices running (Android 10)
  • Huawei/Honor devices running EMUI 9/10
  • LG devices running LG UX 8.0 (Android 9)
  • Motorola devices running (Android 9)
  • Nokia devices running (Android 9)
  • Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI 1/1.5 (Android 9) / One UI 2 (Android 10)
  • Sony Xperia devices running (Android 9/Android 10)
  • Any AOSP Android 9/Android 10 based Custom ROM running devices

Partially Working on:

  • OnePlus devices running Oxygen OS 10 (Android 10 based)
  • Asus running ZenUI 6.0 / ROG UI 2.0 (Android 9/Android 10)
  • OPPO and Realme devices running  ColorOS 6 (Android 9)

Not Working on:

  • Xiaomi devices running MIUI 10 / MIUI 11 (Android 9/Android 10)

Sadly, on the MIUI 10 / MIUI 11, the app is not working. If you have an AOSP-based custom ROM installed on your Xiaomi smartphone, it will definitely work.

Downloads

There are two versions available, the official one, which is a bit of an older version but still supports real-time transcriptions and audio searches. The other one is modded by the developer and will work on most devices as listed in the Compatibility section.

Just download & install the APK on your device. If it doesn't work on your device, you can try the official APK version.

So, this is how you can download and install Google voice recorder on your device. If you have any query, feel free to ask.
