Install OnePlus Sans Font on Any Android Device (Root)

OnePlus OxygenOS 11 update brought multiple design language changes to the OnePlus 8 series, including the all-new 'OnePlus Sans' font. If you like the font, you'll be glad to hear that you can simply swap the default font on your phone with OnePlus Sans throughout the OS.

In this guide, we will show you how to install the OnePlus Sans font on any Android device systemless-ly, using the OnePlus Sans Systemlessly Magisk module.

How to Install OnePlus Sans font on Any Android Device

OnePlus Sans is a spiritual successor to the classic OnePlus Slate font, which introduced in 2017. In fact, the transition from the "Slate" typeface is consistent with OnePlus' recent visual identity change. Because OxygenOS does not yet enable downloaded font packages, there is currently no official method to use the OnePlus Sans font on OnePlus phones other than the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T.

But thanks to the XDA Senior Member NeFeron and Venky, to port the OnePlus Sans font on any OEM Android device, regardless of the Android version installed. We have provided a download link for both available versions (v1.2 being the latest) of the Magisk modules.

Since it's a Magisk module, the only requirement is that your phone must be rooted with Magisk. If you're familiar with using modules, you can simply download it from the original XDA thread and install it. But if you're new to it and need a little guidance, just follow the steps below to get the OnePlus Sans font on your Android device.

Note: Before installing the Magisk module, take a complete backup of your Android device just to be on the safer side. In case of technical issues, you can use the backup to recover your valuable data and information stored on the device.

Step 1: Download the ‘OnePlus Sans Systemlessly’ Magisk Module

The first step is to download the Magisk Module. So, click on the link below to download the module's zip file on your phone.

If you're going to download the module on your computer, make sure that you transfer it to your phone's internal storage. You can place it anywhere as long as you are able to find it.

Step 2: Install the Module using Magisk Manager

Follow the steps below to install the Magisk module.

  • First open the Magisk Manager app on your phone.
  • Then, on the bottom navbar, tap on the Module icon and select the Install from Storage" option.
  • Now vavigate the OnePlusSans-Font-ModuleMagic-v1.2" file to begin the module’s installation.
  • This might take a few seconds to finish, so be patient. After the installation is complete, hit the " Reboot" button on the bottom right corner.
  • That’s it.

The module works in an Install & Forget" way. So, you don't need to configure any settings, and the default font on your phone should be changed system-wide after the reboot.

On other OnePlus phones, like the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 7 series, or OnePlus 6 series, it replaces the default OnePlus Slate font with OnePlus Sans. So, you will easily be able to switch between the fonts by going to ‘Settings ‘> ‘Customization ‘> ‘Font ‘.

Apart from that, the module can detect custom font implementations in MIUI, which means you can install it on any Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices as well.

If you wish to revert back to the original system font, go to Magisk Manager > Modules and find the OnePlusSans-Font-ModuleMagic" module from the list of installed modules. Then select the Remove button. The module will automatically be disabled and uninstalled on the next reboot. So just reboot your device.

So that's all about installing the OnePlus Sans font on any rooted Android device. If you have any queries, please leave them in the comments section.
