Apple has officially unveiled its next major macOS release – macOS Tahoe 26 – at the WWDC 2025 event. This time, Apple has opted for a change in naming convention, jumping straight from macOS 15 to macOS 26.
As with every new macOS version, macOS 26 introduces a fresh set of default wallpapers. You can now download the official macOS Tahoe 26 wallpapers in ultra-high 4K resolution right here.
Apple has brought its Glassmorphism design (also known as Liquid Glass) to iOS, iPadOS and macOS, offering a sleek and minimalist look. That said, design preferences can vary from person to person. Customising macOS is now more intuitive than ever, thanks to new interface changes and the introduction of handy new tools. There’s plenty to explore, but for now, we’ll be focusing specifically on the macOS 26 wallpapers.

macOS Tahoe 26 Wallpapers
As with last year’s release, macOS Tahoe 26 comes with two new wallpapers – one for light mode and one for dark mode. Although the design is consistent across both, the difference in contrast and colouring makes each version feel distinct. These wallpapers beautifully showcase the stunning scenery of Lake Tahoe. In all honesty, the macOS 26 wallpapers are a step up from the main iOS 26 wallpaper. As always, let’s begin with a preview to see how they look. Please keep in mind that these are low-quality preview images to give a glimpse of the wallpapers. So downloading them will do you no good. Instead, use the Drive link given below to download them in high quality.
