Nothing quite beats a classic gradient. This collection blends simulated light effects with beautiful gradient colourways, combining them into a series of stunning downloads.
Each wallpaper in the "Behind the Light" series features sweeping bands of colour, beginning with True Black and flowing towards bright white, from which each colour path emerges.
Admittedly, we’re on something of a gradient kick at the moment. But as discerning wallpaper enthusiasts, when aren’t we? The smooth transition of colours on a high-quality OLED display is a visual treat that many attempt, but few achieve to the standard required for Apple's high-DPI screens.
Today's featured artist is @damonxart, who describes himself specifically as a gradient artist. Who knew such a niche could be mastered so well?
After browsing through his X feed, it’s clear that damonxart is truly at the forefront of gradient design. Today's feature includes just a small sample – five wallpapers – from his much larger body of both digital and physical work.
We were particularly taken by the “Behind the Light” collection, as it evokes memories of the light beam wallpapers that launched with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.
"Behind the Light" Gradient Beams Wallpapers
The damonxart collection features a series of gradient “lights” that shine towards a central focal point. Each beam transitions smoothly through up to five different hues, creating a rich and dynamic effect.
Purple, a personal favourite ever since it was introduced with the iPhone Pro Max, particularly resonated with me. In fact, the first two downloads prominently feature shades of purple woven through several of the light bands.
Just a quick heads-up: avoid right-clicking (or pressing and holding) on the images below to download them, as they’ve been compressed for faster loading and better website performance. For the highest quality versions, use the download link to access the original, uncompressed files.
If you’re drawn to these designs, you can download the full-resolution versions from this Google Drive folder. Each wallpaper is available in PNG file format, ensuring crisp detail and vibrant colour on any screen.
