Several weeks after its release, Apple’s latest handset has undergone thorough scrutiny. Reviewers have dedicated countless hours to creating detailed video reviews on YouTube, while early adopters have voiced concerns over some software bugs and performance issues. Meanwhile, the teardown experts at iFixit have conducted their signature deconstruction of the device, unveiling its internal components and overall design.
The dedicated team at iFixit specialises in meticulously dismantling Apple’s latest products, offering an analysis that explores each component and assesses the device’s repairability. On 7th October, they published highly detailed teardown images of both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, providing enthusiasts and technicians alike with a comprehensive view of the inner workings of the new models.
At the same time, creative visionary Basic Apple Guy, who has built a reputation for producing intricate internal wallpapers of Apple devices, has released his latest work of the year: the iPhone 16 Pro Internals wallpapers. These wallpapers showcase thousands of painstakingly hand-drawn components, each depicted with remarkable attention to detail.
These schematic wallpapers were crafted using teardown X-ray images provided by the team at iFixit. In a blog post, Basic Apple Guy details the painstaking process of creating these wallpapers, dedicating countless hours to the task using Sketch and Pixelmator.
These wallpapers began in late September, less than a week after the iPhone 16 Pro was released. Using a mix of early teardown videos and Apple's lower-resolution repair guide photos, I started to create, piece by piece, the highly intricate interiors of these devices. Late in the process, I finished off these internals using the more detailed photographs released by iFixit on October 07.
